Overview

The Hepatology Society of Somalia (HSS) is proud to host the Advanced Hepatology Skills Workshop in Hargeisa, designed for clinicians, hepatologists, and gastroenterologists seeking hands-on training in advanced liver disease management. This two-day intensive workshop focuses on practical skills in liver biopsy interpretation, FibroScan (elastography), and comprehensive hepatitis management.

Participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and real-world experience, guided by expert Somali and international hepatology faculty.


Workshop Objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Interpret liver biopsy slides for various liver diseases including viral hepatitis and cirrhosis.
  2. Perform and analyze FibroScan measurements accurately.
  3. Develop patient-centered treatment plans for hepatitis B and C.
  4. Understand the latest international guidelines in hepatology and apply them in the Somali context.
  5. Collaborate with peers for case discussions and clinical decision-making.
